er sorry about that, I meant to qualify that as 'show off existing, and toss ideas around for new' but not actually engage in new ones as of yet. I totally agree, and we'll end up like the monthly-meetings of the various linux-user-groups around the province

The idea being to get people excited about the possibilities and prospects, in order to get them to engage with and solidify the meat and gristle aspects of the group. Get the boring stuff out of the way now, move on to the fun stuff the next meeting, but do so by teasing and enticing with the fun and interesting stuff that is to come.
edit - ps, I'm doing my absolute best to make sure I can attend the first general meeting on Tuesday. I can't promise anything yet, as it all depends on my wife's work schedule and whom if anyone can take care of my kid ; but I desperately want to be there for the first go-around.
