Re: Free equipment from ENTS (Edmonton Hackerspace)

If they have a logic analyzer to spare, we could certainly use one. A bench supply would be great too. I think we're fine for oscilloscopes at the moment.

Re: Robot group build / workshop

Progress update. I'm on my third revision of the frame design and it's quite close. I want to move a few things to make it a bit smaller and add a few more mounting points, but I have something that is sturdy, simple to build, and allows lots of room to drill holes and add additional bits. On the fi...

Re: Another Arcade Project

Sorry I'm replying so late.

That looks beautiful! I like how you can change the colors of all the controls. I can see that being quite fun. Keep us informed as you go. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Re: Robot group build / workshop

Thanks Drew, I'll let you know as things progress. Speaking of which, I've received basically everything except for the motors. Hopefully the motors will show up this week and I can start working on my build this weekend. I've already gotten the OK from Rylan to use the laser cutter to make up the f...

Re: Robot group build / workshop

Tim (Odemia) also said he is interested. I've already ordered parts for my initial attempt they should be here by the end of May. I also spent this past weekend reading a couple of books on building various robots using Arduinos. Most of them were similar to what I had in mind and were using similar...

Robot group build / workshop

I'm going to be building a robot and am wondering if others would be interested if I were to host a workshop for others to build a similar robot. Here's what I have in mind: Arduino-based (for ease of programming and so you can use your knowledge to build other things) Two drive wheels and an omni-w...

Re: Vending Machine

Speaking of the vending machine, is there any serious expectation that it will be fixed and put into service? If not, it's taking up quite a lot of valuable space and should be removed, as would any other member's project that is left in the space.

Re: Does techworks want a new laser cutter in the space?

I personally think it would be great for Techworks to have access to a professional quality laser cutter and I totally understand your limitations with training and time. I think that's a very fair tradeoff. There are a few things that I think need to be considered first: What happens if it gets dam...

Re: TechWorks Garage Sale!

Also, note that the date has changed. It will now be one day only, September 28th. We'll start early in the day. Please avoid bringing garage sale items more than a week in advance to avoid cluttering the space.
