Re: TechWorks Garage Sale!

I've got a whole bunch of stuff to bring. I can also bring a folding table.

I'm able to run the BBQ on Saturday and bring burgers and hot dogs, but I'm busy Friday, so if we want to do the BBQ then too, I'll need somebody else to run it. I'll pick up food supplies Thursday night and help set up.

Re: The Solidoodle

The Solidoodle was worse; it came with almost zero documentation. Their website does have some good guides, but they are buried within blog posts. I'd argue with that... their wiki is pretty decent: http://wiki.solidoodle.com/. I agree with everything else you said. is that new? I'd never seen that...

Re: The Solidoodle

Luckily, I have had the privilege of doing work with both the Solidoodle 3 and the Makerbot Replicator 2. Here's what I can tell you: Neither one worked particularly well out of the box. The Solidoodle had trouble getting things to stick, with parts regularly coming off the bed. We made several modi...

Re: Hobby King order

Hmm. Well, the MultiWii can do that with a magnometer. I believe they called it head-free mode. I tried it on mine and it seemed to work well enough, though I couldn't test it much with my big quad in my basement and I've since been having trouble with my quad. That's the only suggestion I have for ...

Hobby King order

Hey everybody,

I'll be placing a Hobby King order soon to get parts for our raffle quadcopter (roflcopter?). If you would like anything, please let me know and I'll include it in the order. I'll likely be placing the order by the end of the week.

Re: NTP-synced work shift buzzer

Thanks jullman. erikk, good question. It does know because I previously configured the timezone for the system. It takes that into account when synchronizing time. I believe the timezone is set through the text file "/etc/timezone", which contains the string "America/Regina". I'm not sure how Linux ...

NTP-synced work shift buzzer

This project an idea that we came up with Friday and had built by mid-day Saturday using nothing but spare parts and tools in our shop. Bun-Bun mentioned in IRC that he was having trouble at work. As a machine shop, his employer has highly regimented work times, using a time clock to punch in and ou...

Water cooling system for laser cutter

Hi everybody, This weekend I assembled the water cooling system for thesaxmachine's laser cutter. His laser cutter's laser tube uses a glass water jacket (another tube around the laser tube) with some hose and an aquarium pump, but didn't come with a proper reservoir or a radiator. This would work f...

Re: Robogames 2014

I'm in for one. I'm not sure which category, though micromouse sounds cool. Musical would be neat too. I'd be happy to help out with any other one too.

Re: garage access

Hi Brad, We have an overhead door, but we don't really have room to bring in a vehicle and work on it, so it's not suitable for working on your car. I'm not aware of any pay-by-the-hour shops in Saskatoon. Doing some quick looking around, it looks like it's rare to find such a place because insuranc...
