Re: Quadrocopter Build Thread

I have essentially built a new copter at this point, and I must say, it works far better than the cheap HobbyKing kits. I had already ordered a Turnigy Talon v1 498mm frame, but just as it arrived, I burned out one of the motors from the kit. Thanks to thesaxmachine and his spare parts collection, I...

Re: HobbyKing/HobbyPartz Order

I tried to make the HobbyPartz order on Wednesday, but I got an email tonight saying that the US Department of Transportation isn't allowing the international shipping of LiPos, so HobbyPartz cancelled the order. I'll email them and see if we just need to pick a different shipping method or what. I'...

HobbyKing/HobbyPartz Order

I plan on putting in orders at HobbyKing and HobbyPartz in the next few days. I burned out a motor and have decided to go with different motors and props as well as a bigger battery. If anybody wants parts, let me know.

Re: Quadrocopter Build Thread

John, the RC simulator dongles showed up today. I'll try to get down to the space and drop it in your bin in the next few days.

Re: Princess Auto Sponsorship

I also don't know that I could dedicate a lot to this, but I'd be quite happy to help you out, Tim. I agree that we should do everything we can to help them with this.

Re: Quadrocopter Build Thread

For sax, here's how to program the new kkmulticopter firmware onto your flight control board: Download the firmware. You can use the original kapteinkuk QuadControl 4.7 from here . You can also use the one I modified to require less trim. It's on the space computer under "My Documents/Jamesc/QuadCon...

Re: MultiCopter(s)

It's probably too late to be relevant now, but for those having trouble getting the arming instructions to work, you want to turn the yaw pot all the way counter- clockwise in the first step. At all other times, you'll want yaw, roll, and pitch pots set to approximately the middle of their range. Al...

Re: MultiCopter(s)

That sounds like a good idea James. I would like to be able to practice so I don't have to take a lot of down time while I repair. Just curious if you have tried just using an audio-in port on your computer with software? link with instructions: http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/forum/forum_posts.asp?...

Re: MultiCopter(s)

Looking around at flight simulators and options for connecting to the transmitter to the computer, it seems the easiest way is a USB dongle that supports several popular flight simulators. I'm ordering one from eBay this weekend for $10. Anybody else want me to order them one? They are coming from H...
