Saskatoon TechWorks Inc. is a makerspace (or hackerspace) that is focused on science, technology, culture, mechanics and the digital arts. We offer a space where people with diverse backgrounds can socialize, collaborate and learn. Through shared resources, knowledge and ideas we strive to create an atmosphere that promotes community and learning.
We also fulfill our role as a community resource by hosting workshops on electronics, programming, crafts, and any other skills that members (or guests) are willing to share.
Our members have 24 hour access to our 1500+ square foot shop and a variety of tools that are useful for building their projects. In our “Clean Room” we have laser cutters, 3D printers, a well equipped electronics bench with soldering equipment, oscilloscopes, power supplies and function generators as well as a great selection of hand tools.
In our “Dirty Room” we have a variety of saws, drills and other power tools as well as “Goliath” our CNC Router, and a 12″x 36″ metal lathe. (special training required.)
There is a somewhat more detailed list of tools available on our wiki.
Our members come from a diverse background. We have farmers, computer programmers, artists, engineers, businesspeople, technologists, and others. Our common passion is to learn new things, make stuff and share our knowledge with others.
Here are the various ways you can get in touch with us in order from best to worst (i.e. quickest response to slowest response):
