In light of Remembrance Day coinciding with our usual monthly meeting date, we decided to cancel November’s monthly meeting. Our apologies for not communicating that to the membership at large before the meeting. Thank you to everyone who showed up last night anyway. We will continue with our regularly scheduled meeting on December 9th.
As of today we have officially moved into our third location, 509 Gray Ave in Sutherland. The space is considerably larger than what we had before, a necessity with our rapidly growing membership. We will post some photos as soon as we get settled.
The Saskatoon Combat Robotics club is having an exhibition tournament at Saskatoon Techworks this Saturday and Sunday (March 23 and 24). Members are encouraged to come check it out. This event is open to the general public as well and are welcome to come check out the robots and the space.
Big thanks to Nathan Grayston for putting together this promo video for us!
There’s something very cool going on at Techworks this weekend… The Saskatoon Combat Robotics Club (aka Kilobots) is upgrading their arena with various improvements including ready/tap-out switches and arena hazards!
What’s that? You didn’t know Saskatoon had a combat robotics club? Well now you do! Interested in building a robot to compete? Head on over to their site for more details.
Thank-you to everyone who visited us at Cameco Spectrum 2013. We were overwhelmed by the amount of interest in the group and look forward to meeting those of you who decide to come visit our shop. We will be announcing the winners of our raffle soon! Check out some pictures from the event on our flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/65022721@N02/sets/72157632584207163/
Just a reminder that the best way to reach us is via IRC as most of our members (including all of our directors) hang out in IRC around the clock. We are in channel #SKTechWorks on irc.freenode.net. You can join us using the IRC link above or with your favorite IRC client. Feel free to drop in if you have any questions or just want to chat!
New laser cutting request form. Check it out on the link at the top.
Come out to tonight’s meeting (7pm, 422 44th St E) to see the rest! Everyone is welcome!
